Annual Meeting

Colonial Williamsburg

Williamsburg, Virginia

NLGI holds an annual meeting each year, traditionally in early June. Members, and all others interested, are invited to attend. Attendance is always international, and of the 25-30 papers presented, many are by authors outside the U.S.A. Sessions are held in which the papers are generally grouped according to subject matter and general interests; these include sessions dealing with grease manufacture, marketing, technical information, product testing, environmental issues and government regulations.

This annual conference encourages networking and fellowship with those within the industry, plus it provides information and instruction, as well as entertainment. An annual business meeting is conducted, informative panels and discussions are held and copies of the various technical papers given by the authors are distributed to attendees.

An open "Call for Papers" is made during the first part of the year as an invitation to present a technical or marketing paper at the annual meeting. Anyone who has knowledge to share about the grease industry is asked to contact NLGI Headquarters.

Running concurrently with the annual meeting is the Institute's unique Grease Education Program with an offering of basic, advanced and application/maintenance courses. The subjects covered in these courses are designed to acquaint both the novice and those with experience about various aspects of lubricating grease. Covered in the courses are details about the many types of greases, manufacturing and testing methods, additives, toxicological considerations and new advances. The instructors are specialists in the various areas covered. For more information, contact NLGI Headquarters.
