Technical Committee

Technical Committee Statement of Purpose
The purpose of the Technical Committee is to keep NLGI at the forefront of new technology and information about lubricating grease operations, manufacturing, research, standards, and government regulations. The Technical Committee also is to provide education and communications regarding industry technical matters to the NLGI membership and the general public. The Technical Committee also takes the key role in developing the technical sessions for the annual meeting.

Composition of the Technical Committee
The Chair, Secretary and Vice Chairs guide the work of the Technical Committee, and are assisted by the chairs of the many subcommittees. Membership in the Technical Committee is by invitation, but any NLGI member is encouraged to volunteer his or her service.

Technical Committee Co-Chairs: Chuck Coe, ExxonMobil Corporation; David Turner, Shell Global Solutions (US), Inc.
Chuck and David assumed leadership of the Technical Committee at the annual meeting in 2007. They coordinate activities within the various subcommittes.

Technical Committee Secretary: Open
The Technical Committee Secretary records the minutes at the meetings of the Steering and Technical Committee meetings. He is also responsible for assembling the minutes of all subcommittee and panel meetings.

Technical Committee Vice-Chairperson: Session Planning Committee, Rob Kress , Lubricating Specialties Co. (Email: rkress@lubespecialties.com) The Session Planning Committee reviews the leadership and scope of the Sessions at the Annual Meeting. It is responsible for obtaining, with the assistance of the subcommittees, quality technical papers for presentation at the breakout sessions during the Annual Meeting, and their subsequent publication in the NLGI Spokesman.
