The Education Program Subcommittee organizes and conducts two grease and one maintenance & application education courses at the Annual Meeting of the NLGI. The selection of publications distributed at the courses is also this Subcommittee's responsibility, as are yearly reviews to keep all courses current.

Technical Committees- David Turner
This Committee oversees the Gear Lubrication Subcommittee, the Usage and Handling Subcommittee, and the Manufacturing Operations Subcommittee.

Fundamental Research Subcommittee Chairperson: Gareth Fish, The Lubrizol Corp.
The Fundamental Research Subcommittee keeps NLGI members informed on advances and changes in grease technology. It oversees any research grants sponsored by NLGI, as well as the presentation to NLGI of the results of those grants. The Subcommittee also aids the Session Planning Committee in securing papers on new greases and laboratory grease tests.

Government Regulations Subcommittee Chairperson: Open
The Government Regulations Subcommittee was formed to keep members informed of current government regulations and pending regulations that affect the grease industry.

Literature and Media Subcommittee Chairperson: Open
The Literature and Media Subcommittee creates, plus keeps current, literature and recommended practices published by the NLGI. It is their responsibility to see that new or revised literature, films, or videos are created when appropriate. The Subcommittee also works with the NLGI office in coordinating advertising of NLGI products.

Manufacturing Operations Subcommittee Chairperson: Mark Mulvihill, Bestolife Corp.
The Manufacturing Operations Subcommittee keeps the NLGI membership informed about technical advances and changes in grease manufacture. The Subcommittee aids the Session Planning Committee in securing papers on all aspects of grease manufacturing. Publications and/or standards are prepared and updated for publication in conjunction with the Literature and Media Subcommittee.

Reference System Subcommittee Chairperson: David Turner, Shell Global Solutions (US) Inc.
The reference System Subcommittee oversees the manufacture, supply, and quality continuity of NLGI Reference System Greases. It providces, as well, test data from round robin testing that is supplied with each container of NLGI reference grease sold. In addition, the Chairperson presents a paper at the NLGI Annual Meeting whenever changes or updates to the NLGI Reference Greases are made.

Usage and Handling Subcommittee Chairperson: Dick Burkhalter, Covenant Engineering
This Subcommittee is responsible for keeping the NLGI membership informed on technical advances or changes in the packing, transporting, storing and dispensing of lubricating greases. The Subcommittee secures papers on these topics for the Session Planning Committee. Subjects that are considered industry standards are prepared and updated for publication in conjunction with the Literature and Media Subcommittee.
