Functional Products, Inc. has a New President
Erik Willett, PhD has been promoted to President at Functional Products after serving as Vice President of Technology and Development. Erik has extensive and detailed understanding of the challenges in formulation and can utilize a range of chemistries to optimize customer formulations. Under his leadership Functional introduced 26 new products in the past two years. Erik earned a BS in Chemistry at the University of Connecticut and his PhD in Polymer Sciences at the University of Akron. He has been awarded Best Paper at the NLGI India conference and NLGI USA. Erik leads Functional’s technical team that includes Jacob Scherger, PhD Polymer Science; Mike Woodfall, BS Chemical Engineering; Dan Vargo, MS Chemistry; and Jim Cordek, MS Chemistry.
David DeVore assumes the role of Chairman after serving as President for over 18 years. DeVore commented “Functional Products mission is to provide Innovative Chemistry for Lubricants. Erik’s formulary insight and understanding of customer requirements will allow Functional to respond to some very fundamental changes in lubricants and grow in the decades to come”.
