A Day of Insight and Action
Attendees were treated to an agenda that balanced leadership training with practical, hands-on activities. The summit kicked off with an individualized DiSC profile analysis, allowing committee members to explore their personal communication styles. This introspective exercise laid the foundation for more targeted leadership training, especially beneficial for chairs, co-chairs, and all committee volunteers.

The training sessions were structured to help participants define clear committee initiatives that resonate with NLGI’s long-term strategic goals. Leaders also had the opportunity to outline actionable next steps for refining committee structures, ensuring that the organization remains agile and forward-thinking.

Interactive Workshops and Networking
One of the summit’s standout features was the dedicated time for in-person committee meetings. This period fostered collaboration and allowed members to dive deep into discussions about aligning their work with the broader mission of NLGI. Complementing these strategic sessions were various networking elements that enabled attendees to forge valuable connections, share experiences, and learn from one another.

Leadership Training
A highlight of the summit was the engaging presentation by facilitator Chris Meade, Ph.D. Chris dove into the nuances of DiSC profiles, demonstrating how an understanding of these profiles can transform communication within teams. His session provided attendees with practical insights on how to leverage their individual strengths to communicate more effectively, thereby enhancing both personal and collective performance.

Looking Forward
As the summit concluded, participants left with a renewed sense of purpose and a clear roadmap for implementing the learned strategies within their respective committees. The focus on leadership development, strategic alignment, and effective communication set the tone for future NLGI initiatives, promising continued growth and innovation across the organization. As part of these improvements, NLGI is revamping its committees to include
6–8 participants each and establishing term limits for both committee members and chairs to ensure fresh perspectives and sustained engagement.
