Hydrogen, the energy of the future
Angel Wileman, manager of Thermofluids for Southwest Research Institute (SwRI), will open the meeting with a keynote address on Monday, May 22, from 10:30 a.m.-noon that focuses on why hydrogen holds promise as a viable energy solution for global decarbonization. Her presentation — “Hydrogen is Here: Are You Ready?” — will discuss the challenges facing hydrogen technology developers and provide the latest studies to address these challenges. The talk will also cover the development of cost-effective and efficient hydrogen production technologies, the challenges associated with hydrogen storage, transportation and use, and current U.S. and worldwide regulations around hydrogen. To learn more about this topic, listen to SwRI’s podcast, “Decarbonizing With Hydrogen.”
The next generation of tribologists and lubrication engineers
STLE will host its annual Tribology STEM Camp for area high school students on Monday, May 22. Students can see demonstrations and participate in hands-on experiments led by engineers and scientists to learn about tribology and lubrication engineering and potential career opportunities in these fields. The meeting will also showcase college students and early career posters from all areas of tribology research.
STLE members and non-members can purchase digital proceedings of the technical presentations at the meeting via STLE’s online learning platform. Content will be searchable and organized by technical track and session, and discounted pricing will apply for those who purchase the digital proceedings with event registration.
